15.1 How Are People with Rooted Goodness Liberated into a New Life?
15.2 How Are People with Rooted Cruelty Liberated into a New Life?
The greater the development of science and technology, the greater the convienence and enjoyment it bring to humankind. Because some people lack profound knowledge, they have become doubtful of the transmigration of birth and death, especially Westerners. The Founding Master Shakyamuni Buddha, when being truly enlightened, saw that all living beings is given birth and then destroyed, being destroyed and then given birth eternally; they are endlessly in the transmigration of birth and death. The Lord also clearly saw that the nobles and the lowly, the beautiful and the ugly, and the happy and the miserable, all impartially receive the results of their deeds.

Reverend Tịnh Vương Incarnating Lord Maitreya Confirms That There Is Rebirth
The Lord taught: “It is clinginess and desire in love that leads living beings to the transmigration of birth and death.” The Lord also said: “It is now the last life of Tathagata; from now on, Tathagata is no longer reborn again.” By His great compassion for the living beings sinking in the sea of birth and death, the Lord taught Tao Dharma for 49 years, aiming to show them the mistakes of ignorance, so that they would manage their Dharma practice following the path to True Enlightenment, in order to be free from birth and death.
It is now the 20th century, and Lord Maitreya has continued to pass down the True Dharma while Western science and technology have been at their optimal development. The Lord has noticed the rebirth of living beings, making the secular world concerned about the birth and death of life and thus, diligent in their practice and fulfillment of Tao Dharma:
When a person is on the brink of death, some parts of their subconscious (Wise Soul) have already traveled up or down in a certain world while their body lies on a bed about to die. The subconscious gradually goes out of the body. It is like smoke rising from the body, continuing to ascend until the entire subconscious goes away. Then, their Stupid Spirit, referred to as the residue of the consciousness karma, enters the leg of the bed and the person passes away. The residue of consciousness karma is what we also call the Stupid Soul. For a person still alive, they have both wisdom and stupidity, so there is a Wise Soul and a Stupid Spirit. That Stupid Spirit exerts a considerable influence on a person: It is because of that Stupid Spirit that a person can quickly or slowly be liberated into a new life, or still be clinging to love, regretting leaving their relatives and property.
When the subconscious evaporates into emptiness, it is a fine substance, and the Stupid Spirit, a coarse one. The fine substance is still somewhat polluted with the coarse one; therefore, after ascending into the emptiness, it can not definitively go to the available world to be perfectly liberated into a new life. If having the opportunity to meet a Meditation Master, who just looks at the corpse, the two parts will not be entangled with each other naturally. Otherwise, meeting a Highly Virtuous One, who could, based on their virtuous merits, pray, will naturally produce the same effect.
Remember that in a mournful family, if there is no longer a cold, sad, and negative atmosphere, the liberation into a new life is perfectly complete. In the case where there is still a sad, negative atmosphere, the subconscious spirit of the deceased person still lingers, and it is necessary to pray for them to be liberated to a new life.
You should also know that the nature of the subconscious, a fine substance, is to move to the place where it is rewarded or penalized, and it will combine with a small ego in that world. At the same time, the Stupid Spirit lies still with the small ego left behind, and combines, resides, and stands still with it. For example, a person living in the human world will be born in Heaven, but their Stupid Spirit will remain in the human world and combine with the small ego of human Dharma to reside until this person attains the Supreme Rank True Enlightenment—it’s called the Great Ego Eight Masses (of Nirvana). He will then gather billions and billions of small egos, in order to return and combine them together with the Eight Masses. That is called the Perfect Return or the True, Good, and Beautiful Return as well.
For a person with a good, gentle, and virtuous nature, they are identical with generosity and brightness, they will be liberated into a new life after 49 days despite any movement. Except for the case in which they cling onto their excessive love, and their spirit comes and goes so frequently that they will be confusedly reborn in the same family. For example, a grandmother who loved her grandchild so much that her spirit could not be liberated into a new life and continued to linger, coming and going, would be reborn as her grandchild's younger sister or her child's child. These cases of confused rebirth due to love attachment are so numerous. —T. V.
This year is the 2,539th year of the Buddhist calendar. Those who are studying and learning, and conceive that humans come to an end upon dying are completely erroneous. A dog seeing that humans live longer, believes that humans are immortal. A human, hearing that Deities and Fairies live longer, wrongly conceives that Deities and Fairies are immortal. A Fairy, seeing Pratyeka Buddhas or Arahants living long, also falsely conceives that Pratyeka Buddhas or Arahants are immortal.
Everyone, whether their lifespan is short or long, is bound to die. Therefore, thinking that coming to the heavenly world will give you eternal life, is a mistake. In some heavenly worlds, living until 2,000 years of age is the longest life. Nobody can live eternally. The only exception is the One of Supreme Rank True Enlightenment, who is Tathagata, Buddha, or God—who no longer undergoes the cycle of birth and death. The Sacred One is able to come to Heaven to live for about 2,000 years; they then have to die and return to the human world to continue their practice and fulfill Tao Dharma. In some heavenly worlds, the lifespan is longer than that, about 10,000 years for a lifetime.
One who is good and gentle when alive, and often helps others without seeking profit, has created their good fortune. Though having no sense of practicing Tao Dharma and following no religion, but only having filial piety, worshiping their ancestors, and loving their parents, at the end of their life this one will meet good conditions to be liberated into a new life and in a new place with blessed rewards. They will have a peaceful and leisured life, corresponding to their previously acquired level and virtuous merits.
There are people with good natures when alive, who often help everybody, frequently go to the pagodas to worship the Buddha or go to church to say prayers, and are pious to their parents and grandparents. These people, at their moment of death, in proportion to the virtuous merits they made, have good conditions to be liberated into a new life at the noble places where the pagodas or churches are situated. When they grow up, at a certain age, they happen to like to go to pagodas or churches, as they did in their previous life.
For the Tao practitioners—who have corrected their bad character, have given up their bad habits, often remain joyfully detached, and attend to resolve when facing difficult situations— at their moment of death, they will have great conditions to be liberated into a new life in noble places and become children of honorable families. They will meet a Good-Intelligent-Awakened One, who will teach them the practices Self-Nature, Awareness of Nature; they will have a tranquil and joyful life.
